Frequently Asked Questions

+ Do I need a referral?

No. You do not need a referral to visit an Osteopath. You can simply book online or ring to schedule an appointment.

+ What do I bring to my appointment?

Please bring any relevant X-rays, MRI, CT, or Ultrasound results that you may have to your initial consultation.
If you are claiming a rebate under the Chronic Disease Management Plan from your GP, you will need to bring your referral paperwork and Medicare card.

+ What can I expect at my first consultation?

Please arrive 10 minutes early, as there is a new patient form to complete prior to your appointment.

In order to provide the best possible care, your Osteopath will ask you some questions to gather information regarding your current complaint and relevant health history. Your Osteopath will conduct a comprehensive assessment to determine the most appropriate treatment and management plan, depending on your condition and individual goals.

The aim of any of the Osteopathic manual therapy techniques applied during your appointment will aim to decrease pain, reduce restrictions and improve overall function.

You can expect to spend approximately 45 minutes with your Osteopath during the initial consultation.

+ What should I wear?

Depending on the region of the body that requires treatment, your Osteopath may ask you to undress to your underwear. We suggest you wear modest underwear or loose-fitting clothing, but most importantly we want you to be comfortable. If you are required to remove clothing you will be covered with a towel during the treatment.

+ How much does my appointment cost?

Intial consult 45 minutes: $96

Return consult 30 minutes: $91

+ How many appointments will I need?

This may depend on the type of condition. More long-term conditions may require more management than acute or short-term conditions.

Generally, you may feel some change within two - three appointments and your Osteopath will endeavour to provide you with the tools to manage your condition outside the treatment room.

If needed, your Osteopath may refer you to another health care provider.

+ Are Osteopaths covered by private health insurance?

Osteopaths are covered under most private health insurance schemes, however, this may be dependent on your level of cover. We recommend you consult your insurance policy. Our clinic has HICAPs facilities available so you can claim your treatment automatically and only pay the gap.

+ Does Medicare cover my appointment?

Osteopathy is only covered under Medicare if you are being referred by your GP under a Chronic Disease Management plan.

+ Where are you located?

We operate out of The Bridge of Health store in the main Street in Yarrawonga. Our address is 31-33 Belmore Street Yarrawonga 3730. There is a front reception/service desk and a waiting room down the hall.
